While Sheldon (Jim Parsons) has despised Wil ever since he failed to show at a sci-fi convention, exec producer Bill Prady believes that “of all the Star Trek characters Sheldon would love the most, we thought Data, the android [who has] trouble fitting in and wants emotions, is pretty close to his heart.”

Wil Wheaton Moves To 'Eureka'

Wil Wheaton, the child actor that appeared in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" as Wesley Crusher, has landed a guest appearance on the popular Syfy series. He will pop up in “All The Rage,” the third episode of the upcoming fourth season and, will take on the role of yet another genius, Dr. Isaac Parrish.

The character also happens to be the head of the Non-Lethal Weapons Lab at Global Dynamics and his attitude will apparently cause some discontent with the other characters, particularly with Fargo (Neil Grayston).

"I've had the script for a little while now, and I've been getting to know Dr. Isaac Parrish as I convert the words on the page into a person you'll see on television," Wheaton wrote in his very popular blog. "I obviously can't go into any specifics, but I've had a great time developing his backstory, creating his relationships with the characters, giving him secrets and beliefs, and doing all the other parts of character creation that make being an actor so much fun."

Wheaton said he had to catch up on "Eureka," and spent an entire weekend watching DVDs and reading about the show on the Internet.
