BBC Receives Complaints Over Sexy 'Who'

The BBC has received a number of complaints about the latest episode of Doctor Who.

According to the Daily Mail, 43 people contacted the organisation complaining about an "overtly sexy scene" in the last show.

In the episode, companion Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) kisses the Doctor (Matt Smith) and tries to undress him.

She also teases him about how long ago he last had sex and suggests that she would not mind having a one-night stand.

Vivienne Pattison from Mediawatch UK said: "I have to say the scene was slightly out of place in a children's programme. I thought it sailed pretty close to the wind."

A BBC spokesperson confirmed that 43 complaints had been received but said: "Millions of Doctor Who fans watched and enjoyed last Saturday's episode, including the lighthearted and humorous scene in which Amy kissed the Doctor."

Doctor Who continues on Saturday at 6pm on BBC One.

Tough call with that one. As an adult there was nothing wrong with the scene and thought it was funny. The problem is it's a kid's show that a lot of under 10's watch.

Maybe they should either make the show more adult and change the time slot or tone down the adult themes for the kids. My wife was saying that Dr Who is a lot more scarier than it used to be, now he's fighting vampires, weeping angels and posessive water.

It is a tough one. Although i have an 8 year old and maybe it's the way I've raised him, but he's way too naive to see anything in it at all. So i really don't have a problem with it. Back in my day of DW the scariest things were the Daleks and I am really surprised that my kids haven't been frightened while watching it.
