Superheroes Series Picked up by ABC

ABC has given the greenlight to superhero drama No Ordinary Family to go to series after a successful pilot.

The show is about an "ordinary" family who survive a plane crash in the Amazon and emerge to discover they have superpowers.  It stars Julie Benz and Michael Chiklis and has been created by Greg Berlanti.

It's reported Benz's character will have super speed.

Other cast members include Autumn Reeser, Romany Malco, Jimmy Bennett, Kay Panabaker and Christina Chang.
