Matt Smith Lands Lead in Isherwood Drama

Matt Smith has reportedly landed the lead role in a new BBC2 drama.

The Doctor Who star will play gay writer Christopher Isherwood, The Sun reports.

Christopher And His Kind will focus on the early life of the A Single Man author as he left his mother to move to Berlin in the 1930s.

"This is a world away from what Matt's fans will expect," a source said. "He's really excited and can't wait to get stuck in."
