AMC is close to picking up a fifth series, and this time, it's a cop drama. Forbrydelsen? a Danish show that AMC is adapting into The Killing.
The original Danish series is about a cop who, on her last day, is forced to begin an investigation of a girl who has been found raped and murdered. A local politician running for office is a primary suspect, but debate on whether the clues are forged by political opponents keeps him out of the clink. Forbrydelsen aired in Europe earlier this year.
AMC's adaptation will star Mireille Enos as the lead detective, and will also feature stars like Michelle Forbes , Billy Campbell, Brent Sexton, Kristin Lehman, Eric Ladin, Jamie Anne Allman and Joel Kinnaman.
AMC is reportedly close to signing a deal for a season of the show, Deadline is reporting.
